Little Millet Soya Palak Layered Pulav
Ingredients
Ingredients-A
- 1 cup Little millet
- 1 medium Onion sliced
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 2 nos. Cardamom
- 4 nos. Cloves
- 1 Bay leaf
- 2 Dry Red Chilies
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp Oil
Ingredients-B
- ¼ cup Soya Granules
- ¼ cup Green peas
- 2 Onion sliced
- 2 medium Tomatoes finely chopped
- 4 tbsp Spinach- 4 tablespoon chopped
- 2 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
- 2 tbsp Mint leaves chopped
- 2 tbsp Curds whisked
- 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder
- ½ tsp Chili powder
- 1 tsp Coriander- cumin powder
- ½ tsp Fennel powder
- Mace- a few strands
- ½ tbsp Garam masala or Biryani masala-
- 1½ tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
For Garnish- Roasted almond sliced, slit green chilies and black raisins
Instructions
- Wash little millet and keep aside
- In a deep pan, heat the oil, add all the whole spices and the onions
- Saute till golden in colour
- Add the little millet, salt and saute for a minute
- Add 2 cups of warm water, cover and cook till done and fluffy
- Remove the whole spices and keep aside
- Heat oil in a deep pan, add the sliced onions, saute till golden
- Add ginger-garlic paste, saute,
- Mix in the spices and tomatoes, and fry for a while
- Add the soya granules which were soaked in warm water for 10 minutes and squeezed, add salt to taste, cover and cook for few minutes
- Add the chopped spinach and saute for a few minutes
- Add the boiled green peas, curds and saute
- Mix in the chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves and green chillies
- Mix well, taste and adjust seasonings, keep aside
TO ASSEMBLE
- In a microwave deep dish add half of the cooked little millet, spread well
- Add all the cooked soya spread evenly
- Arrange capsicum and tomato rings on this layer
- Spread the remaining little millet evenly on the soya/mince layer
- Place lid and microwave for 4 minutes
- Garnish with roasted almonds and black raisins
- Serve hot with raita of your choice
